Dear LifeStyle Energy Customer,

We regret to inform you that after 6 years of serving you, LifeStyle Energy has closed our doors for business. We have always tried to provide you with the best products and service available. Unfortunately the warm weather this winter has dramatically decreased sales, which has impacted our business.

Even more than the weather, the toxic business climate in Illinois has caused us to rethink our plans and lead us to the conclusion that we will no longer contribute to the revenues of the State of Illinois. With our company’s taxes increasing, workers compensation increasing, unemployment contributions increasing and the coming ramifications of healthcare impacting our business, our costs have increased dramatically year over year.

We have suffered through a State sales tax audit that has cost us hundreds of hours of our time and thousands of dollars of our money to defend ourselves from a corrupt State that tries to extort small business owner’s like us for fees they cannot prove – yet we are assessed and have to pay penalties and interest on.

Lastly, the State of Illinois has determined in its voracious appetite for revenue that we need file use tax instead of sales tax. That single decision raises the cost of our products to you by 7.5 percent. It makes us uncompetitive and we would bleed slowly to death.
